"The television series gave kitchen-table players courage to enter card rooms for the first time, especially after newcomer Chris Moneymaker, a 27-year-old accountant from Tennessee, won the final tournament. Anyone can enter poker tournaments provided they have the money to buy into the game. The buy-in for Monday's game was $10,000, with a $200 entry fee. Players also can bluff their way into the game by winning a series of satellite matches. "

i wouldnt take it too seriously, i would imagine the author of the article has little if any poker knowledge and was trying to use a catch phrase from the game, however innapropriate it may have been. i also think that any publicity is good for the game especially if it is not negative.
