is there anything sadder than these players? i am on one right now with MS Sunshine, but everyone else seems to be a straight idiot.

The straight idiots instinctively follow their leader.

The 50+5 players aren't much better. Plus, it's worth moving up just for the extra T-200 in starting chips.

I usually play $10+1 Party SnG's, but the other day I accidentally got into a $30+3. The tables fill up so fast I have to double-click, click, tab, space as fast as my fingers will fly to actually get into a $10 SnG most of the time. I didn't notice until the table was full and we were underway that I hit the wrong table and it was a $30 instead of $10. At first I was a bit intimidated by the higher buy-in, but several hands I realized the competition was about the same as the $10 games I was used to and and I came in 2nd. I wondered if it was just a bad table or if they are all like this? If they're all like this there's really no point in playing the lower buy-in games.

This is the kind of thread that will kill my bankroll. Please someone tell me to maintain my discipline and stick to the 10/1 tables, before I move up foolishly!

Or triple it.

the $30's are a piece of cake, yet if you don't have the bank, don't move up!

What would be a good BR to start with at the $30's? And is the answer different for Limit and NL?

I think around 30 times the buyin, but it depends on alot of factors.

If I was you I would have made a crying bet on the turn, limit $200 and I had $145 left, since you were calling anyways.

Thanks MS. I was just looking for a general guideline. I realize that, just like every other decision in poker, "it depends" is the correct answer. /images/graemlins/cool.gif I'm glad I asked because I never would've expected it to be 30X buy-in. My instinct told me more in the 15-20X range. Thanks to you and all the other zoo'ers, I'm learning a lot here.
