Clarification on BBs (help plz!!)

How do u calculate ur bb's/hr...do u count everyones bb made during the hand or do u just count ur bb's for that hand? The other question i have is say that i put 4 bb's in on one hand and win it then on the next hand i put two bb's in and lose does that mean i am avg 2bb's so far....just not real sure how to calculate all this bb stuff!!lol thx for all the help new to the site and already getting tons of info

BB/hr = big bets per hour is simply a measure of your net gain/loss in limit games calculated as follows:

Net gain/loss in dollars / (Dollar amount of big bet x Number of hours played)
