There is a new gambling magazine. It is called PLAYER, published by Cardoza Publishing Inc. There are four columns about poker, written by Mike Caro, Tom McEvoy, Ken Warren, and Shane Smith.
Here is an excerpt from Tom McEvoy's column (regarding 7 card stud):
"A lot of people like to play cards like J-10-9. I recommend that you play hands like this in two situations only-- when all three of your cards are over cards to the board, or when when they are suited and either none or only one of your suit is showing"
I believe you can obtain a subscription to this magazine by emailing the publisher at letters@cardozoplayer.com. Mr McEvoy's book on stud is available at Gambler's Book Club in Vegas as well as, of course, from Cardplayer magazine.

Wow, promoting the competition now David? You dont see that everyday. Unless you have some partnership in Cardoza publishing that I dont know about. Just thought that was kind of odd.

Sarcasm isn't one of your strengths. But I guess its OK for a novice to venture out into the unknown every now and then.
Should we stop reading Card Player due to the rather high volume of manure that's in there? Should we stop reading this forum because it contains some as well? If you find a rotton apple in a barrel, is the whole barrel rotton?
OK, so McEvoy's barrel has a lot of rotton apples in it.

Apparently David wants to make more money playing stud, so he enlists the help of these other experts to teach us how to play against him, right? Hahaha

While this is advice is, of course, ridiculous, the truth of the matter is that the great majority of stud players would be better off if they never played for straights. I'm going to guess that McEvoy is in that group. /images/graemlins/smirk.gif

And when they stop having cover stories like "hot casino babes," women might even consider subscribing too....

Hot casio babes? David said nothing about that! Maybe this magazine has some worth afterall (or were the hot babes in McEvoy's book?).
