View Full Version : Worst Software Ever?

I felt for blackjack and went back to Intercasino again. Busted out and headed for the poker bonus. I know I shouldn't, but the players are SO BAD, I have got to live with the terrible software, I have got to live with...the worst software ever, all categories?!?

I have used Novel Groupwise for Mac, and that is a piece of software that very well could be used for torture in Turkey prisons, but IntercasinoPoker, well, that HAS GO TO win the price for worst software ever. All categories. EVER!

Anyone beg to differ?

I've never made it over to intercasino, largely due to the feedback on this forum. The worst software I've ever seen is the yahoo hold em software. I don't think that really counts though, because it is solely play money.

After seeing that software, Pokerroom.com(my first site) looked like the pinnacle of man's acheivements, an achievement far more impressive(to me) than the discovery of fire or the wheel.

I agree .ICP is the crappiest real-money software bar none.

other really crappy software:

Absolute Poker
Pacific Poker
Total Poker
now defunct old Popular Poker software(they now license ACR's software)

Planet Poker
Victoria's Poker

but none are as annoyingly bad as ICP

this coming from a company thats owns one of the largest casinoes on the net..their casino software is excellent.
Why dont they get a fuggin clue and put out a decent product..i do not know..

I hate this software..did I say I hate it ..heh /images/graemlins/tongue.gif

This is pure speculation, but here goes. ICP licenses their software from Cryptologic, as do other sites like Will Hill, Poker Plex, and a couple others. I'm going to guess that ICP's lease runs for a good deal of time, so they're stuck w/the crap software until that lease is up. I hope this is right, or close to it, cause if not...then they're just morons for thinking that they don't need to hire a team of programmers to fix that POS or write something from scratch.

Well, if man then was anything like you now, I'd bet on discovery over invention.

I've been looking to sign up at some more sites and this is one I was considering. The software looks to be the same as William Hill in the UK which was the first site I ever played and I didn't notice any problems (its a while since I've played there though).

What exactly are the issues with the Intertops software. I'm concerned by the vociferous criticism and am now re-considering whether to sign up.

This is probably just a typo, but I thought I'd mention that he's talking about Intercasino not Intertops.

We used to use Novell Groupwise (Windows) where I work, and I thought it was the worst email software possible. Then we switched to Lotus Notes and I realized that it wasn't.

If you think the software is bad wait til you get a chance to experience their "support".

Well, goodguy, you didn't say what you think about the software, did you? /images/graemlins/wink.gif I shall stop whining about them, just a last ramble from a conversation with "Live Help". I love the confident last line...

[Client:] why do the table window have to pop up even when i have made a move by checking the advance buttons?
[ICP:] these pop ups are there to notify you that something has changed that is not affected by your advance buttons
[Client:] pardon me...if i check the fold advance button and go to another window, your software will popup when i fold, why?
[Client:] this is very annoying, dont you agree?
[Client:] and how about the waiting list...if im on the list and gets a seat while i allready are playing at another table, i get kicked out of the current game. how about that, annoying or not?

Ouch, sorry Cored, I feel for you, knowing the horrors of dealing with Groupwise, but have you ever experienced the Macintosh client for Groupwise? That one can't possibly be beaten by Lotus Notes or anything else, trust me! /images/graemlins/smile.gif

I agree. I think they also get the runner-up position with the following additional quote. I didn't mean for it to come out as them guys have no brain, I'm not cruel, just not having english as my first language /images/graemlins/wink.gif.

[ICP:] why is that? what exactly is so terrible with that software?
[Client:] oh, so much, i used to mail my complaints to you but only get back a no-brainer reply.
[ICP:] with all your respect, but i tend to doubt that our replies are non-intelligent,

That puts Party's support to shame.

Interesting speculation. Cryptologic is more than the software provider - it hosts the poker room and Intercasino is little more than a skin like Empire or Multi. As Cryptologic say in their marketing blurb, "the success of a poker product depends on quantity of players". Given this, let alone its general dependence on Cryptologic, I don't think it would make much sense for Intercasino to go it alone even if they legally could.

Assuming Intercasino are "stuck" with the Cryptologic software, I think it would be wrong to suggest that this is some cash-cow old-dog product that's going nowhere. I thought that the Cryptologic software was only released a year ago or so. It has undergone one look-changing upgrade this year. It has also had new games and single-table tournament functionality added. Like Paradise, they promise multi-table tournaments soon. This looks like an "invest" product for Cryptologic.

The problem both for Cryptologic and Intercasino is perhaps that they don't yet really understand the poker market. Look at the clunky Microgaming software, the bad attitude of most Prima sites and the failure of Boss-sponsored Total Poker for analogous difficulties. Having said that, most of the problems with the software that have been complained of here (and repeated on Bonuswhores.com) are issues that are more likely to be annoying to the shrewd, multi-tabling, multi-tasking shark than the single-tabling rapt fish.
