I had 2 interesting situations in Party SnGs lately. What would you have done?

Down to 3 players, stacks were as follows:

Button: 2060
SB: 6884 after posting 250 in SB
BB (me): 306 after posting 500 in BB

I got Q /images/graemlins/heart.gif A /images/graemlins/diamond.gif

Button raises all in, SB calls without hesitation.

Both players were playing reasonably well.

Would you call here with what very likely is the best hand and risk to come in 3rd if you donīt win the hand (but have a reasonable stack if you win) or would you muck and hope that button loses and simply hope to move a place up?

Please note that I was pretty sure that SB had a mediocre hand at least, maybe something like KJs or the like. Button might have any hand better than average.

Thanks in advance

Call is mandatory here.

I think you need to call. You have a good hand, and will triple up to 2400 chips if you win, which puts you in a decent position to fight heads-up for first place.

If you don't play and the button wins, you will essentially need to go all-in next hand with any crap, and with little chance of increasing your stack in any meaningful way.

If you don't play and the button busts out, you will get second place but have no real chance to capture first place.
