I'm planning on taking a day off in early Dec to for a day trip either up north to the Woods or down the Garden State to AC (Taj or Borgata). North or south - Which is the better bet to find some soft 2/4 or 3/6 HE games during the week?

I've never played in any of these rooms (only at the Trop in AC) so I have no idea about the texture of these games (rock locals vs. LAG tourists). Believe me, I will need them to be as soft as possible to make any $. /images/graemlins/grin.gif

Any opinions? TIA.

The AC poker rooms attract a lot of tourists around the holiday season (early December).

I would suggest the Taj Mahal or the Borgata.
Both spread $3-$6, both will have their share of bad players.

I cannot comment about Foxwoods during the day, as I have never made a weekday trip there other than during the WPT.

Post a report.

Foxwoods during the day is soft at the lower limits. Actually, they're soft no matter when. But during the weekdays there's all these old guys, and they play all the time, and they suck. I don't know where the money comes from. Guess they treat it as a hobby.

Hmmm, a table with 9 old guys who suck and one young guy who is mediocre at best... I think I like my chances. /images/graemlins/wink.gif

I found the Foxwoods LL games to be much softer during the day than the AC games.

Stan:

No matter were I've played - FW, Mohegan (when open), Borgata or Vegas. Weekday players, especially during the day, are usually tight, retired, regulars who don't part with their cash.

If you've never been to either casino and if you're looking for the largest card room east of California then go to FW. If you're looking for the nicest cardroom east of California then go to the Borgata. Also, the Borgata cardroom is downstairs from the main floor - tough for the fish to wander past.
