Hellos all

There was some talk awhile back that Ho Chunk was going to start spreading live poker sometime this fall but i have not heard anything recently. Their website does not mention anything about this so i was wondering if anyone had any info. WAs this just a rumor or what? Thanks in advance for any insight you may have.

The poker room has opened there. I don't first any
first hand information, but if you go to www.deja.com (http://www.deja.com)
and search rec.gambling.poker for "Ho Chunk" during the
last couple of weeks, you will find comments from a couple
of guys who have played there.

Quite the name for a casino, hard to see it in print
without thinking of "Blow Chunks".

The room opened last week Sunday. 10 table room, spreads as a high as 10/20 HE, 10/20 Omaha...not sure how high stud goes.

They can usually spread at least one 2/4, 4/8 and 6/12 HE and one 1-5 stud any day.

Can't tell you about the rake...meant to ask when I called them but forgot.

Hope this helps

wow. they have a 2/4 table. how far is the drive from chicago to HoChunk? i went there once, but that was over 5 hours, and i had no interest in casinos then. only in the cute girls who suggested we take a drive up that way for the hell of it.

lol. yeah. i actually had the GNR logo before crock, but i was on a posting hiatus for a long time, so it's easy to get us confused by looking at that.

anyway, i'm in school right now, and haven't been in action for a while. i haven't worked since March, and have been desperately looking for work. when that happens, i'll be back in action, and a trip to HoChunk wouldn't be out of the question. which north burb are you in?

Ive actually been out of work since march too.....besides poker that is. Right now i live in DC and am desperately looking for a job....something to keep the parental units at bay because they are "worried". I am originally from arlington hts and my parents still live there. Where are going to school? I went to U of I for my undergrad and did my masters overseas at the london school of ecomomics. You would think that i would be able to find work but havnt yet....maybe that is becasue i havnt sent out any resumes in awhile /images/graemlins/grin.gif I would defintiely be up for a trip to ho chunk over the holidays though. maybe we could get some of the chicagoians on this board to make a big pligrimage up there....it would be fun. I bet you that 10/20 game is as soft as unrefridgerated butter. as it gets closer ill try to put up a post and/or send a PM..it would be loads of fun.

yeah. unfortunately i'm broker than broke. i am going to pawn my pool cue for gas money tomorrow. i'm seriously broke. if i get a job and can afford to risk some on poker over christmas, then i'm in (though i'll probably be at the 2-4 table, not 10-20)

i just called. it's $2-4 up to $10-20 hold'em, depending on time of day, etc.
Rake is 10%, max of $4.
I've never played B&M, is that good, bad or about right?

it's better than any other poker room near Chicago (which is how i think of HoChunk). it's not bad, though.
