short handed hold'em - isolate the crazy guy

is it just me ?

this tactic - 3 betting the player who raises before the blinds first in with around 50% of his hands - gets quickly unviable because everyone is keen to do the same thing - AQo after you 4 bets, and you dont scare off a lot of hands that werent going to call

if its true suggestions welcome...currently i just play tighter

I think you're right. The few times I've tried to do this I've had folks at the table call my 3-bet with impunity. I'll still try it here and there, but I anxiously await the day when I can handle a maniac to my right the way all them experts say I should be able to.
