Just an update to everyone, if you're going to Foxwoods during the World Poker finals, get there early and expect to wait for a long time for a table.

Luckily I got I was their at 7am so my friend could register for a tournament, so I got into the $5-10HE just before 10am with no wait. But by about noon the list started, and it only grew and grew as the day went on. The list for the 2 5-10 tables they were running was probably around 100 names by 4pm. For the 3 $2-4HE games they were running maybe 200 names. I'd guess 60 names for the $10-20HE. People were waiting 5 hours for a table, and I'm sure many more gave up.

Foxwoods was also running some of the biggest games I've ever seen in their room. They had a couple $100-200HE, a $150-300 stud. A big pot-limit omaha game, as well as the usual pot-limit hold'em. There were 6 $20-40 stud games going, 5 $20-40HE games.

Anyone ever seen Foxwoods poker room this busy before?

When the WPT was at the Borgata, it wasn't that bad at all. However, they had games as high as $1000/2000

if ever there was a $1000/$2000 game spread at foxwoods, you can bet it would be stud.

do you really think that? I think HE has finally overtaken the card room.

Actually, I'm guessing it would be a mixed game. I know there was a $500/$1000 HOSE game last year during the WPF. I'm guessing there will be similar games closer to the main event when all of the big tournament players are in town.

I didnt have too bad a wait, Friday night there was open seating, Saturday at noon or so I waited 45 minutes, Sunday morning I waited 15 minutes. In general the games were good, I could tell because of all the suckouts /images/graemlins/smile.gif Friday night however was the tightest game i ever sat in.... it was strange

Last Saturday the wait was ridiculous!! I arrived at 1:00 p.m., put my name on the 4-8HE list which was at least 50 names long. Sat at a empty table for about 15 minutes and then miracle of miracles - they open a new 4-8HE game right were I was sitting and never called the list - people just sat down and started playing!!

I had to leave after about 3 hours of playing and they still hadn't called my name!! If you can't get there early - avoid FW during the WPF.

On Sunday afternoon, I waited about an hour or a bit more for a game. Last night the lists were very short and I only waited a few minutes for a seat. The place was still busy but no long lists.

10-20 and lower all had long lists, 20-40 (what I played) and higher wasnt too bad

So are the poker games going to have worse players because of the increase in volume in the room? Or are they going to have better players with all the tournament pros being attracted to the room?

Should one be inclinced to step up a limit (skill and bankroll factors taken into account) or step down a limit?

[My 5-10 game was tight all morning was but was getting pretty ripe by evening.]

Impossible to predict. The games I played in (5/10 & 10/20 HE) ran the gamut. I was in this incredibly tight 5/10 game but in a little over an hour with a few new faces the game was loose with just about every pot being a Kill.

Play whatever limit you are comfortable with, the main reaso to move up would be for a shorter waiting list. Most "pros" wont be playing under 50-100 so you probably neednt worry

Hey Rollaj,

Are you going to be at Fox next weekend (Friday and Saturday)? Anyone else? I will probably be playing 20-40 Hold Em there (wanted to get up there before the Winter sets in).

Take care,

Jeff
