What is hi-lo regular?

You're probably referring to something Sklansky said in a post on rgp. I think he meant Hi-Lo Stud with no qualifier, which means any low is good, you don't have to have an 8 low or better. So if your opponent has aces, and you have kings, you get half for low and he gets half for high.

Wouldn't a pair of aces beat a pair of kings for both high and low?

most places but with high low always check the rules. ive seen where an ace can be both high and low but a pair of aces had to be high.
