Paradise .50/1

Dealt: A /images/graemlins/heart.gif Q /images/graemlins/heart.gif

MP calls, folded to me, I raise in the SB, BB calls, EP calls.

Flop: [ 4 /images/graemlins/spade.gif Q /images/graemlins/club.gif A /images/graemlins/spade.gif ]

I bet, BB folds, EP raises, I reraise, EP caps.

Turn: [ 4 /images/graemlins/spade.gif Q /images/graemlins/club.gif A /images/graemlins/spade.gif ] 6 /images/graemlins/diamond.gif

I bet, EP raises, I call.

River: [ 4 /images/graemlins/spade.gif Q /images/graemlins/club.gif A /images/graemlins/spade.gif 6 /images/graemlins/diamond.gif ] J /images/graemlins/heart.gif

I check, EP bets, I call.

Is this routine, or did I play it a little too aggressively?

I guess you can answer any question this way but it really depends on your read on the EP player. The big question in my mind is will he slow play aces or queens from early position? Since most players will not and you have accounted for half of the aces and queens already, it is less likely he has aces or queens. That makes one hand that you need to worry about on the flop: trip 4’s.

I play it exactly like you would. When I got raised on the turn I would have slowed down there also. I would wager that the hand he held is within this group listed most to least likely:

1. Trip 4’s.
2. A-Q
3. Ace - other avearge to big card kicker.
4. A very distant 4th - aces or queens.
