View Full Version : To Bet or not to Bet?

I'm wondering if I really chickened out here, or if I made the right play on the river.

1/2 Party Poker:

UTG and UTG+1 both limp (both pretty typically poor Party players) and its folded to me in the CO. I raise with 2 Jacks, button and the blinds fold, and both limpers call. Flop comes [ 9h, 5c, 4c ]. Limpers check, I bet and both call. Turn is the 5h, limpers check, I bet and both call again. River is the Ah, limpers check, and I wuss out and check. I took it down with my jacks beating TT from UTG+1 and Q9s from UTG. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the weak-tighty jersey and 1 being a good check award how bad was my wuss out.

I like it. With 2 opponents and an A on the river I'd also check it through (you'll only be called by hands that beat you if you bet).

Nicely done.

20/20 hindsight, but judging by the results I think he would have been called in both spots.

I'd give it an 8 (rather weak-tight).

Suck it up and fire one more out. Easy fold to c/r
