Saturday I play in a big multitable limit tourney I don't win a single hand. Played for like an hour and a half. 2 days later i go to a local casino and play for 8 hours and win a single had that i bluffed at. Today I play for 4 hours and win 1 hand the whole time. It's mostly that i don't get jack for hands. Today in the 4 hours i got AK twice and lost aj 3 times kq once and kj once. None of em were suited. I also got AA once and lost. Besides the AA my biggest pocket pair was 55. Does stuff like this happen to u and any idea on the odds at all i guess at a full table averaging 35 hands per hour u should win 3.5 hands per hour.

They don't just happen to me. They happen to everyone. And I wouldn't even call yours a terrible streak yet.

Read David Ross's posts on playing online for a living for a good sense for the ups and downs of streaky poker play.

yeah this happens to me. It happened to me for 2 days last week and i only won 3 hands.
I kept getting garbage hands and when i got big hands i still lost. I had KK 4 times in one night and lost all 4 times. And two hands were real nasty. I had AQ and raised preflop and each time a clown cold called me
One hand was like this:
I had AQ, board was
Flop T Q 4
Turn: 7
River: 2
I bet all the way, it was a heads-up pot, and a clown shows me: T4s.

And the second was the same baloney:
I had AQ,
board was:
Q 3 6 J 7
And the caller shows: Q3.

And the rest of the time I kept getting garbage hands.
I don't know why these streaks happen, it feels like someones playing a cruel joke on you, and it feels like you don't know when it's gonna end. But somehow, i guess good players are supposed to overcome it.

...and I'm gonna try to put this as nicely as I can....
.In the app. 50,000 hands I've played on Party, that was the very first time I've used "Disable Chat." Were you trying to win money playing poker, or give everyone at the table a seminar? Hardly a hand was dealt that you didn't comment on either: a) someone's mistake; or b) how you knew what they had.
.
A sample from memory of the nuggets before I disabled chat:
.
I knew you flopped a set b/c you raised pre-flop, then checked the flop.
.
Nice raise.
.
I knew you had at least one 8 because of your hesitation to act.
.
I haven't won once against so&so heads up, and I'm always a favorite.
.
When you had app. $175, " I can't believe I'm up so little"
.
When you had app. $195, "When I hit $300, I'm out"
.
I usually play 15-30.
.
Why did you check? You should have bet.
.
You cold-called 3 bets w/ KT?
.
....and on & on & on... finally I'd had enough, was biting my lip to comment, but instead cut off your chat.
I missed your comment when you left the game with $0, but I'm sure it was a nugget.
.
To your credit, you did not curse, and you were sometimes right in your analysis. However, the whole table let out a collective sigh of relief when you left.
.
Well, I tried to be nice, but that's the best I could muster. And don't call me out on these comments, I've got Pokertracker, and I'm not afraid to use it!
.
Good luck at the tables,
Speck.

If what Speck says is accurate and I believe it might be:

STOP SCHOOLING THE FISH

Fish naturally do this on their own. Their is no, absolutely no excuse, for doing this...whether your up 1000 bb's or down 1000 bb's....your only gonna make the games tougher to beat when you get good cards....

Not trying to be harsh...but when you do this it affects ALL of us...seriously

My mom used to say, "You can't make yourself bigger by pretending that other people are smaller."

But I'll be danged if poker players don't keep trying.

"Today in the 4 hours i got AK twice and lost aj 3 times kq once and kj once."

It's a very bad sign, in my opinion, that you know five instances from memory what your opponents happened to have when you happened to not win a pot with AK. When that kind of gifted memory power shows up in my brain, I know I am in a defeatist mindset, and my only best move is to quit until it goes away.

How can you disable the chat? It's the most entertaining thing about playing online.

Streaks where your aces get cracked, the bad beats, etc., yeah that's gonna happen. But I can't remember the last time I won only 1 hand for an entire session and I play a lot of poker. That should NOT happen very often IMO. I suspect you're not semi-bluffing enough, or perhaps even failing to recognize some of the times when you in fact, have the best hand.

well actually if u read my post i said i was playing in a casino not online. Anyhow I was only having a conversation with 1 player at the table who i've played with b4. He's new and he often asks me for advice. And the only hands i called were his after he asked. It's pretty sad that u would get so frustrated with me because I answered a poker friends questions in regard to the play of a few hands. I never commented on the play of another persons hand other than his which was given after he beseeched my oppinion. Actually if u don't have anyone that u can openly discuss your poker game with u have a big disadvantage.

And yes i semibluffed the few occasions I had a hand but the problem was i hardly got to play anything the hands were such trash. And i remember the hands not because of my "defeatist" attitude but because all experienced players can, and the fact that i have a photographic memory helps.

SPECK u didn't notice all those hands and comments r talking to 1 player that i know after he asked for my advice? He's just a new guy i've played with b4 and have taken a liking to. He routinely askes about the play of his hands after. As I said i wasn't commenting on everyone's play just his and the commentary was asked for. Please pay attention before u make a post like this next time.
