View Full Version : Reraising an all-in raise?

We're having a NL home tourney this weekend. One scenario I'm wondering about is this:

Short all-in raise

Player A bets $500. Player B raises all-in for another $200.

What is the minimum Player C can raise? Can he raise $200, making it $900? Can he raise $300, making it $1000, "completing" the short raise Player B made? Or does he have to raise $500, the full amount of Player A's bet?

Same situation - if subsequent players only call Player B's raise, can Player A reraise? How about if Player B had raised $300 all-in (more than half Player A's bet)?

Thanks in advance

Hi pudley,

It depends in the amount of the blinds. Let's say the blinds are $25/$50 at the time. The first player made it $500 to go (a raise of $450) so the minimum reraise -- if you have enough chips to make it -- is to $950 (the amount of the prior raise). The all-in player's raise (of $200, to $700) is irrelevant.
