I was reading their latest newsletter and they gave advice to low limit beginners by saying that if the hand is raised and re-raised you should use caution in calling down hands or fold. Now is it in the interest of the site to have tighter games and reduce their rake? Or are they not trying to kill of rookies who will get chopped to bits calling their ace rag off on a raise........

I noticed this too. The information they provide is so basic and vague that it really isn't useful at all. I think they just give out that info to make terrible players feel they have some sort of inside tip, which will give them the confidence to go back to the poker tables and blow their bankrolls again. 888.com, the casino Pacific is affiliated with, does a similar thing in their newsletter. They have a section titled "basic strategy," but it just gives some basic & obvious advice and doesn't go into real basic strategy blackjack at all.

when i was vacationing in california, i found a casino guide and decided to read their omaha high-low tips for fun. among the advice given was "try to watch players and determine if they are high players, low players, or sweep (their word for scoop) players."

i think the ridiculousness of this statement is obvious to anyone who has played the game.

It is in the site's best interest to spread the money around. This results in more "churning" of the money and the more crappy players they have on the site the better.

If all their money pools into only 1% of their players, it is a problem. When the money pools, people make withdrawals. When people make withdrawals, they have less "money in the bank."

When the money is spread around, they can run more tables and rake more money in in the long run.
