This afternoon I was back at my 0.25/0.50 game because there weren't any full 0.5/1 tables.

I'm in MP1 position and get 6 /images/graemlins/spade.gif6 /images/graemlins/club.gif. All fold to me, I, MP2, CO, button and SB all limp, BB checks.

Flop: 8 /images/graemlins/heart.gif 8 /images/graemlins/club.gif 9 /images/graemlins/diamond.gif

Blinds, I, MP2 and CO check, button bets out. Blinds fold and I decide to do a check-raise (stupid?) to see whether the button just wants a free card or really has an 8 or 9. MP2 and CO fold, button calls.

Turn: 8 /images/graemlins/diamond.gif

I bet out again and would fold to a raise, he folds...

Would you do a check-raise? Or was I just lucky and stupid /images/graemlins/smile.gif

Thanks,

Guido

If you're reasonbly sure the button would bet at any flop that was checked through to him, It's a good play.
