ok, so i'm looking to head out to vegas soon, but one guy i'm going with is 20 years old, however he looks as if he could be divorced with children. are there any casinos with poker that he could get into easily?

If he looks well over 21, anyplace. When heading to bars, sitting down at tables, etc., he might want to sit down separately if there are other guys in the party who look young, since when they ID, they typically ID a whole group.

One thing to remember is that if he hits a major jackpot in poker or on the slots, he has to present proof he is 21. If he does not, he will not get the jackpot. A 20 year old did this at Ceaser’s a couple of years ago. He hit a $3 million plus slot jackpot and the Nevada Gaming Commission would not let Ceaser’s pay him...jb

I've played a little bit in Vegas, a lot in LA cardrooms.
And I have always been young looking for my age. Started when I was about 18 and am now 38. I have never in my entire life been asked to show ID at a poker table and I have never seen anyone get carded. I wouldn't worry about it at all.

All they can do is say you cannot play.

Hey daryn,

For more information about playing underage in general, check out Riverman's "Borgata vs Taj" thread from last week under B&M. DOTTT asked the same question as you, only in reference to Atlantic City...

I know the Bellagio cardroom cards like maniacs if you look young.

I've seen quite a few people get carded in poker rooms.

I got carded on my first visit to Gardena a long time ago. I have also seen others carded at Los Angeles casinos, but only a couple of times.

Just don't play anywhere with a jackpot!! If you hit you're going to want to shoot yourself in the foot.

I see people get carded all the time. My wife gets carded about once a week it seems. She gets carded in just about every casino she goes to (and she's 30!). Go figure.

Went to Vegas for my 21st birthday, and didn't get carded in a poker room. I did, however, get carded absolutely everywhere else -- restaurants, standing around watching a craps table, trying to get on an elevator up to my room with a bottle of beer.

It all depends on the floorpersons. Most likely, he'll get into all of them.

I look like I'm twelve and was not carded going into the Mirage or Bellagio most times, but occasionally I encountered a zealous floorperson.

Once he's sitting, they definitely won't bother him.

It's 18 to gamble here in MN, I'm 20 and I could easily pass for 21 or 22, and they've carded me 2 of the 3 I've gone to the casino for poker...
