Just thought I'd share summut with you that happened to me last night.....

I was at my local casino playing in a tournament. The blinds reach 100/200 when the lights go out /images/graemlins/shocked.gif

Emergency lighting comes on (hardly worth the bother) and the cardroom manager shouts to everyone to stay in their seats.

Within 5 mintues, I am the only person left at my table and wonder how many chips I can steal /images/graemlins/grin.gif

40 mins later, the casino manager comes out and tells everyone that there is 20 mins of emergency lighting left and we all have to be out of the casino b4 the lights go out. We are told that staff will come round and make note of how many chips we have /images/graemlins/confused.gif /images/graemlins/confused.gif Why?? we wont be coming back to finish off the tournament another time with the chips we currently have.

Two members of staff start to frantically run around with pens and paper to take chip counts. Ten mins later we are still waiting, so i go to the card desk and get a pen and paper and do "our tables" chip count. I hand it to a member of staff, all the chips get moved into the middle of the table in one huge pile and we all get up to leave. As we are leaving, the lights come on /images/graemlins/grin.gif /images/graemlins/grin.gif /images/graemlins/grin.gif

This is where I hope I wrote down the right chip counts as I have to re-distribute the correct amount of chips to everybody at the table. HURRAH!! I did it right and we all sit down to play again.

I went on to make the final table and after I got knocked out I went over and spoke to the cardroom manager (whom I know very well) and asked him what would have happened if the lights never came back on. He told me that they have had a power cut twice before and on both occassions everyone who entered the tournament got their buy-ins AND re-buys back EVEN IF THEY HAD BEEN KNOCKED OUT PRIOR TO THE POWER CUT!!

And the even more weird thing about the whole situation is that the night before, I was talking to a friend of mine about the last time that casino had a power cut /images/graemlins/shocked.gif

Just as well it didnt happen after I mentioned power cuts, they would all think I am some sort of witch or something.

Has this ever happened to anyone else - if so, what was the outcome??
