Does anyone have any recommendations on which casino in Tunica has the softest games? Which poker room is the most accomodating?

Every LL game in town is fairly soft. As for HE, Sam's Town has 2-4 & 4-8, the 4-8 being somewhat rockier if not necessarily tougher. Gold Strike has 3-6, sometimes 4-8 & 6-12; 3-6 usually very good on weekends, 4-8 is new and about the same, 6-12 you run into a few players moving down as well as up so it's a bit tougher game. There's 4-8 next door at the Horseshoe, but I never play there. The Grand has 3-6 on up (it's the biggest room in town). Hollywood may still have a room, if so they spread 3-6.

Everybody has 1-5 stud also. Strange games. Usually a mix of senior citizens, folks who haven't learned other games yet, and folks waiting to play other games. There's also Omaha 8 here and there.

No real surprises anywhere, if you're used to LL. As for service, you can't beat Tunica, period. As soon as you walk into any room, ask about comps. Full-meal comps are typically available anywhere for 2-4 hours play (and normally they'll write it for two after they've seen you a few times, so you can feed a companion as well). The most expensive poker room rate in town is $35, if that tells you anything.

Personally, my favorite room is the Gold Strike. Overall very friendly, lots of LL games, well-lit, clean, yada, yada. Not to mention it's no smoking if that's a concern.

Hope that helps,

George

p.s. When is your trip? I'm over there often.
