Since I live in Texas, there are not many places to play hold'em /images/graemlins/mad.gif. Only some 4/8 and 5/10 3 hours to lousiana. I went to vegas earlier this year, now I get to go to Atlantic City for the first time. To my collection of info, I found that you can play at the TAJ, Tropicana, and Borgata?

What about the Sands or Bally's? Any others? What are the stakes? /images/graemlins/spade.gif

Any info I can get on the type of poker rooms will be appreciated. Also if there are any regular weekend tournaments?

Thanks.

The two main places to play in AC are Taj and Borgata. Taj is a huge room with a lot of action esp. on weekends. Borgata is big, but slower and sometimes not all limits are available. The games are good there but not quite as good as at Taj, but the room is VERY nice (plush chairs, quiet, flat screen tvs, hot waitresses, etc). Taj has 2-4, 3-6. 5-10, 10-20, 15-30, 20-40 and higher hold em. Borg spreads 6-12 instead of 5-10. These are your best bets for action...get a players card and clock in and out of games. At both places you will get $1 an hr for 5-10 and below and $2 an hr for 10-20 and up.

Tropicana also has 2-4, 4-8, 7.50-15, and 10-20-30 at times. Since Your coming a far way, I assume you'll be here a few days try them all. If only trying one Id say Borgata for a luxury feel or Taj for the action.

Sands/Ballys offer only low limit stud, but allow smoking

What are the available stakes at Sands/Ballys? I hope I can find a good weekend tournament at AC to play in. Thanks for your help.

The Trop has a NLHE tourney every Friday:

1st Friday of the month: $65+$10
2nd : $100+$10
3rd : $100+$10 (First place is guaranteed $10K if they get 100 or more entrants)
4th : $200+$20
5th : $300+$30

Rebuys are allowed for the first three rounds.
They don't have tourneys on the weekends.
Registration is two hours prior to the event.
They all start at 4:15pm.

It's cancellation remains one of the great injustices of my lifetime.
