While Binion's is smoky, it's not in the top 5 smokiest rooms in Las Vegas. Heck, it's not even the smokiest cardroom downtown.


Since I play mostly only in Vegas, Here's my two cents on the Vegas Valley card rooms.




Smokiest cardrooms:

1) Arizona Charlie's

2) The Plaza

3) El Cortez



Highest Rake:

For the 4-8 type player it's a Tie,

1) Bellagio

1) Mirage

If you play higher then 10-20 you only have two places to play (that are owned by the same company), but if you are a low limit player; as far as rake goes, M & B are higher then the rest.



Best looking wait staff: Orleans




Nicest Tables: Mandalay Bay & Texas Station.



Monte Carlo's are nice but I hate where they put the drink holders. Was the guy drunk who designed the tables?




Most likely place to see a fist fight break out between two players:


Arizona Charlie's




Place you wish a fist fight WOULD break out between two players:

Orleans (those damn grumpy locals :-)




Place most likely to see a fist fight break out between two dealers:

Binion's

Orleans (I know Stations has a copy-cat one but the Orleans lets you use it for everything from Ann-Margret tickets to ladies mud wresling in thier new arena).




Easiest comp for a non-local to get:

Binion's $6 food comp. They fall like rain. And the prices at the snack bar are like something out of a Leave it to Beaver episode (only with more smoke & railbirds then Ward & June had to endure).



Best one liners from a brush:

The guy who works swing at Circus-Circus. I've seen guys who do stand-up for a living that can't touch this guy.


Best one liners from a dealer:

Bubbles at Excalibur. Everyone should play at his table at least once.



Best free late night snack:

Mirage. Those cherry danishes are to die for!


Most likely place to find a grumpy local:

Orleans


Most likely place to find an angle shooter:

Tie,

1) Palace Station

1) Mirage


Place that handles angle shooters the best:

Binion's



Worst comp policy:

Flamingo - As one dealer told me,"we raised the rake and got rid of comps; that should really bring'em in!".
