I was trying to figure out the most outs a drawing hand could have heads up in hold'em... just so we don't start a war over symantics, my definition of "drawing hand" here is not the underdog hand, but the holding that, if the hand ended right there, would lose.

Draw: Qs Js
Made: 2c 2h
Board: Ks Ts Tc 8h

Looks like 26 outs (a 54.5/45.5 favorite with one card to come). Is there a draw with more? It's the best I can come up with.

If you change some stuff around (namely so that that K is not top kicker and that your hole cards are), I believe you can get 29.

9 gives you two pair with better kicker. (3)
4 gives you two pair with better kicker. (3)
K gives you a straight. (4)
8 gives you a straight. (4)
Q gives you top two pair. (3)
J gives you top two pair. (3)
Any spade gives you a flush. (9)

Total outs are 29 -- just under a 2:1 favorite (~63/37). Wow, I don't think I had 29 outs in my entire session tonight (in three hours, I had three hands worth seeing the flop with).

You're counting a bunch of your outs twice, plus you're counting the 2 /images/graemlins/spade.gif as an out, which it isn't. Your example is also a 26-out draw.

this is not 26 outs. an 8 splits the pot and the 2s is no good.

i believe this is the best you can do is this:

your hand: Qs Js
made: 2h 2s
board: Ts 9s 9s 3h

your outs: three jacks, three queens, three tens, three threes, four eights, four kings, ace, seven, six, five, four of spades, for 25 outs.

lets see if anyone here can beat that.
