Ugly .50/1.00 Party table
I was in MP with 92o, so I folded, but here goes......
UTG calls, UTG+1 folds, UTG+2 calls, MP folds, I fold, LMP folds, CO folds, button calls, SB folds, BB checks.
FLOP: Q /images/graemlins/heart.gif 10 /images/graemlins/heart.gif 6 /images/graemlins/heart.gif
Everyone around the table checks.
TURN: 7 /images/graemlins/club.gif
Checked around again.
RIVER: K /images/graemlins/heart.gif
BB bets, UTG raises, folded to button who calls 2 cold, BB calls.
Button took it down with red eights.
BB had 7 /images/graemlins/heart.gif 2 /images/graemlins/diamond.gif
UTG had 5 /images/graemlins/heart.gif A /images/graemlins/club.gif
Is this really stupid play all around? Was the button an idiot for calling 2 cold with only an 8 of that suit (considering the size of the pot, even though he won, I feel like this is a terrible play on his part).
The biggest reason I ask is that I was in the same situation last week holding pocket 6's, and the same thing happened, but I folded the hand on the river... I woulda won it (yes.... with a 6-kicker flush, between 3 players) and thought, god, I'd never call that anyways...
Am I stupid for thinking that way, or is the player here the wrong one?
