Today, just moments ago, I was playing in a tourny. One player got JJ three times in a row. The 3rd time I stayed in with 10 10 against her, because I told myself what are the odds shes going to have pocket JJ again. To be on the safe side, I only called and didn't raise, because she was betting the same as she did the first two times (timing wise).

I probably should have just folded my 10 10 after the flop, but I just couldn't convince myself that she had it again, even after seeing the cards I still couldn't believe it!

Anyway, just thought I'd rant some!

To answer your question in your post title, the odds that your opponent held JJ against your TT was exactly 244:1.

244:1? I dont think so. I believe its 203.17:1.

The odds of her getting JJ three times in a row are
10,793,860:1

But, as Copericus said, in any hand the odds are just
203:1

Actually, I may have voiced my question wrong or poorly. The question is more what are the odds that they would get dealt JJ 3x in a row. =)

Yes, Copernicus, but if your opponent is on a RUSH, the odds are more like only 2:1.

Interesting post, I've been playing PP for about 3 months now. During the last two weeks I have had a above probable occurrence of having either the same hand twice in a row, or having the same hand on two different tables at once (referring to card value, not suits). I'm sure it is coincidence but has anyone else noticed it more often lately ?

The 203:1 is only true if you take a 50 card deck with 4 Js, in this case since you have TT, the deck only has 50 cards. usually its 220:1
