Reading about the great Dutch painter Vermeer, I note that he was born in 1632. Also born in that year were Spinoza, John Locke, and Christopher Wren.

Any ideas on what year produced the greatest crop?

A great year for baseball players: Piazza; Sosa; Olerud; Mussina; Kent; Thomas; Bagwell; Alomar.

On other fronts:

Cuba Gooding Jr., actor
Lyle Menendez, murderer
LL Cool J, rapper
Pauly Shore, ?
Vlade Divac, best basketball player ever named Vlade
Cline Dion, diva (curiously, her husband was born in 1868)
Tracy Lords, acrobatic actress
Lisa Marie Presley, heiress

Doesn't appear there's an Isaac Newton in the bunch, or even in the aggregate . . .

How about 1937 General Colin Powell?

Heck 1941 was a pretty good year as well for America at least, Dick Cheney.

Please don't let us forget 1932 which brought us our distinguished Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld.

I hadn't realized Darwin and Lincoln were born on the same day. Probably the second greatest such duo, behind Jeff Bagwell and Frank Thomas.

Baseball rules! Great, great game tonight.
