how should you go about when you flop a straight draw or flush draw from the big blind?

should you keep checking it? what should you do if it gets checked around on the flop?

how can you build a bigger pot with just your draw?

i play the party $25 NL

this question is way too general, because straight draws and flush draws can vary so much in quality. also, you have to consider whether it was raised pre-flop, the number of opponents, how the others in the pot play, how deep everyone is relative to the size of the pot.

that said, one important thing to remember is that you do not want to get a significant portion of your stack in with a drawing hand when you will be out of position on the turn betting round. thus, with a high-quality draw such as a straight or flush draw with two overcards, you may want to go for an all-in check-raise semibluff, rather than having to call a big bet when you are a huge underdog if you miss on the turn.

with a weak drawing hand it is often best to check and wait on developments in a multiway pot, but i would usually bet and hope to pick up the pot in a shorthanded contest. of course, you have to consider the texture of the board, the pre-flop action, etc.

If you're playing decent opposition, you want to mix up your play so it's clear whether you're on a draw or not. You're equity comes from the combination of picking up pots by aggressive betting and winning bit pots when you get lucky with your draw.

Against lesser opposition forget about the semi-bluffing aspects of the draw and play it as cheaply as possible, as you'll maximize your implied odds that way.
