If you get a three face up you have to immediately match the pot or fold. Now, what happens if you catch a second three? Do you again have to match the pot or fold?

We charge increasing rates for threes. First three is .50, second three is 1.00, etc. You can set the rates however you'd like, but this works well for us.

i think you have to do it for every 3 no matter how many you get.

When you get a fifth 3, you knock the dealer upside the head instead of matching the pot.

Hmmm ... you guys must be playing in a different league than me. We generally charge for 4s and you get 3s for free.

We match the pot for every three. You can also play with a cap, say $20. 4's are free.

Baseball being a made up home game, the rules are whatver you say they are so long as everyone agrees to the same rules. If it were me, I'd make him match the pot again. ACTION!

Probably the best answer so far. Do what works for your group. On a side note - when a person gets a 4 face up in our group, they get an extra card face up.

We can never decide if they get that card face up or face down ... how do most people play it?

If it was up, then give it up. Depends on your game if you want to give them another down card for a down 4.

Do you guys play 9's for free ? /images/graemlins/laugh.gif

We play you match the pot for the first 3 that hits the table (match or fold)

At any point if someone gets a 4 face up then they get an option to buy an extra down card for $1 dollar. We have debate about what to do if someone is all in and then they get a 4.

9's have been free in all the games I've ever played.

We play matching the pot on 9's (which is optional if you want it for a wild or not) and buying a card with a 4 for $1.00.
