Analyse this hand: JJ in no limit

Hi, I've got to say I'm normally a limit player though I've played a lot of NL tourneys. I'm thinking of playing a lot more NL in future. Here is a hand I won a good pot with (@ .25/.50) but I don't think I played it too well (just my opponent played especially badly). I don't think my play on the turn is too good. I feared a trap I guess. What do you do in those cases when someone just calls your big bet on the flop? My opponent said he put me on a draw, hence the big all-in.

That makes no sense, you should play with him a lot and the player who posted to play UTG.

If you fear a trap but have a strong hand you want to bet but a bet size that doesn't show weakness and you can get away from. $5 wasn't enough.

why did you make this $5 turn bet?

you are not only implying weakness, which will encourage your opponent to take a shot at you (and if you are raised on the turn you should be folding), but you aren't cutting down his odds if he is behind you, which he almost certainly is. here, with five outs, he probably has the implied odds to call you.

i believe when you plan to make a decent size bet or raise on the flop with a legitimate hand, you should make it a size where you will feel comfortable betting at least as much or more on the turn.

having showed weakness on the turn, i think you made the right play calling the river. however, your opponent is an idiot. if he put you on a draw, either you have made it (87 or randomly having a 6 and making trips) and will beat his KT, or he will be unable to win any money on the river since you cannot call all-in. whenever you think the opponent is on a draw, the correct river play is to check or make a small bet to induce a bluff, but never to bet him all-in. as an aside, if he thought you were drawing, his correct play would be to make a big turn bet.

I realised after I bet that $5 how bad a bet it was. I guess I induced a bluff which is why I called the all-in.
