it's 6 handed 20-40 with some really loose players along for the ride. two loose players limp, i limp w/ J8s in the cutoff, button limps, sb folds, bb raises. we all call. 5 of us see a flop.

J44. bb bets, folded to me, i call, button calls.

turn: J. bb bets, i call, button calls.

river K. bb checks, i bet, button raises, bb folds AA face up, i call.

comments?

On the flop, I would've raised to get the button out and see where I was at with the BB. The only exception is if BB is a total rock and will only raise out of the blinds with QQ, KK, AA.

Based on the way that you played the hand, I'd have three-bet the river.

How you doing Mike and everybody else? It's been awhile for me.

I don't put money into the pot preflop, six-handed or not, limpers or not. I lose money with hands like this.

I think your flop and turn calls are fine. If you're ahead no use out chasing those who are drawing. But it's not at all certain you're ahead.

I reraise the river. I don't understand why you didn't.

Oh, and this? i bet, button raises, bb folds AA face up, i call.

They let folks get away with showing their hands before it's finished where you play?

Not quite a cinch - he loses to KJ or 44.

again i felt J8s was worth a look since i was against players who could play hands like 93 and so forth. but i may have been wrong in this case, J8s is awfully weak.

on the river i just called because button was the simple type who would never raise the river here w/ less than a J. so at best i was looking at a chop, and at worst he could have KJ. which is exactly what he held btw.

KJ makes Jacks full of Kings.
J8 makes Jacks full of Fours.

I hope you considered folding on the flop. If the BB isn't one to lead with AK on the flop here, then you have to give it up. Generally, I'm a lot more willing to fold crappy top pair hands against a not-too-aggressive nonsteal preflop raiser (say that 5 times fast /images/graemlins/wink.gif) when a pair flops, since you only have 2 outs against an overpair rather than the usual 5.

i like the way u played on all the streets except on river. without looking at the result, i'd say i would reraise most of the time on the river. hope i am right /images/graemlins/smile.gif
