Party 5/10...a turn check...rate my play.

I have 7d9d in the bb. Utg open limps and everyone folds to the sb who raises. The sb is tight agressive and tries to be rather tricky at times. I call as does the bb and 3 of us see the flop of Qd9h3c. The sb now checks, I bet, utg folds, and the sb just calls. The turn falls the 4s. The sb checks to me and I check behind. The river falls the 9c. The sb now bets, I raise, and my hand is good after the sb calls. How'd I play???

You played it perfectly. I can't think of a hand that you're ahead of on the turn that the SB would've checked the flop with after raising PF. Give yourself the free card.

PS. Did you plan on calling a river bet without improvement?

My opponent had pocket kings and was a bit disgruntled after the hand. Had he checkraised me on the flop I would have been done with the hand. His flop check seemed suspect and when he just called my bet it started screaming AA or KK in my head. I don't think I would have called the river had he bet and I didn't improve.
