Ok I just played my first 150 hands there and it was way to time consuming to do that. Couple of thoughts.

1) Multiple tables
2) They eye candy is nice and all but how about an easy to read flat table option. I'm straining to see action at the other end of the table and the animation isn't flowing right.
3) I'm not sure if it's the players or the animation that makes action so slow, but I'm kind of leaning to animation.
4)check/fold preaction button
5) muck uncalled hands option
6) table graphics errors make it hard to quick read the board for action patterns. Seat 4 often had a rouge chip in the betting position and seat 7 seems to 4 bet on a three bet.
7) 4 color deck
8) Option to lose the avatars

The software is neat and has a wow cool factor but I'm not sure that it needs it. The hook in any game is that the player does something correct and is rewarded for it. Well poker has that built into it anyway so a clean uncluttered presentation gets the job done.

Just my $0.02

I think the point is they were going for something different, which kinda answers 1 and 2. I got done clearing my bonus (but in difference to upcoming 2+2 tourny and free hat I'm leaving my money there for now) and it was a pain frankly. Its ridiculous that there's no muck uncalled hands option, no wait til big blind option (have you ever seen so many people post UTG?) etc etc - and for god's sake whoever decided a difficult to see "3d" client without multiple windows should be at such an ungodly small resolution should be shot. Basically TP goes into the "has/had potential" pile. I could say more but I'm tired and such, maybe tomorrow.

The thing with Truepoker, and David is going to hate me for saying it, is that it appeals to the fun gamblers.

They don't want to play a game for fun at 100 hands per hour and bust out quickly, they want to drink coffee and have a friendly chat and a laugh.

I have asked on here more than once for a 'flat' option and 4CD (Afterall, that was invented before internet poker).

Several of the other things are tedious to 'us' seasoned players, but to the gambler who wants to go to a casino, but can't it keeps the game at a pace they can follow and feels like more of a real casino.

I assume that is the thinking for 'muck uncalled hands' and the suchlike, as True do tend to update ideas if they think they are appropriate to the site.

Personally, I agree, True is not for me, however I wouldn't like them to change too much, because they are providing a service that would be missed by many if it fell into line with the more hardcore sites.

I've played 1250 hands or so after opening the account a few days ago, I deposited 250$ and won 200 in the first 100 or so hands, (I was playing 2-4) then lost that and was down to about 100 left, I think the slow action was tilting me, cause when I finally found out my stats I was having 41% flops seen, which is a tad high even for me, so I tightened up and got it down to 39% and got back to even.

I havent played any tourneys, but found the tournament lobby to be difficult to read.

4 colour deck is a must, and I can't see a single reason for that not beeing an option.

Multiple tables, see no need for that since they want to keep it 'TRUE'

Took me 1000 hands before I found the preclick buttons....

My eyes got tired after playing there, probably because seeing the chips on table and same color cards makes you strain eyes more to see how many are in and what suit it is.

The games were quite tight, when my 2-4 game went down to 13$ avg (full table) I left.

No 'limit' S&G's why?

I have cashed out my initial money but am keeping the bonus for tournies

The Floating notes are good, but players sit to close to eachother on the sides.

As I mentioned in another post I was SB with AQ off, but got distracted so I didnt act in time, the software allintimeouted me, which is a bad idea making it even easier for cheats to allintimeout cheat at opportune moments.
Then they don't give you another allintimeout for 24 hours, whatever condicions the net have. BOOOOOO.

The statistics are good, with the option to start at anytime and to see the long ones too, and being able to save them to file.

that you can chose to ignore certain players chat is good, but that you can write whatever you like on 'location' is pathetic.

That you can lookup all the players and where they are is good.

It is easy to send the host a message thats good.

That you have to sit out to add funds is bad.

I also think that it is good to have different kind of sites, and maybe they have a niche with certain players, but due to the slower pace of the games it is just not my cup of tea, but maybe sometimes if I want to relax from work... /images/graemlins/smile.gif

41% is only a tad high? Were you playing NL?

I downloaded it a few months back. I played about 4 hands of play money to see the software and then deleted it from my computer.

To each his own I guess but this software was torture for me.

How short-handed was this game?

We have the following items in software development:

1. A flat 2D optional view, as requested by quite a few customers.

2. Multiple table play capabilities.

These are rather large software developments and will take a while, but they are coming. The combination of an optional 2D presentation and addition of multi-table play will address many of the characteristics which some players find lacking in our 3D format.

3. We will review the presentation of advanced action buttons, which we already offer but might need to adjust features on.

(Lori is correct about one market to which we specifically appeal, many Truepoker players are "fun gamblers" who want to drink coffee and have a friendly chat and laugh while they play. These players, who can be a "pro's" bread and butter, do not approach the game as a factory piece-rate system. They play on because they enjoy it, even if they lose over the longer run.)

All-ins stink. Now if you go all in the cards and chips fly so fast it is hard to tell what happened. I suggest turning the cards and dealing 1 street at a time with 3-5 seconds between each street. This is the most exciting play in tourney play. Doesn't it make sense to have a little drama for your target audience?

I play at True quite a bit. The games are incredibly soft and it is easy to get to know how most of the players play since it is a smaller site. I like this part of it. Having hosts that actually speak English and respond within a minute is outstanding. I actually like their multi tournaments (probably because I seem to cash most times times I play.) Granted, sometimes the games go a little too slow and sometimes the software lags a bit behind. I think they should fix the allins for tourneys or no limit ring only. Keep it the same for ring games to speed up the game. Definitly need to be able to play more than one game at a time, but it sounds like they are working on this. Overall, I enjoy the site and make a crapload of money off of it so I will keep playing there.

I agree, something has to be done about when a player goes all in. The screen goes crazy and when the dust clears you only know what happened by the amount of chips you have left.

If you can slow that down to each card being delayed by 5 seconds that would be great.

The all-ins rapid finish is the biggest flaw on the site.
