If Gagne wins I'm gonna puke.

AL I think Halliday or Loaiza are clear cut choices.

Halliday will win the A.L.

Gagne will win the N.L. and is clearly the most deserving candidate.

I think Gagne deserves to win it...no closer has ever had a season like his. Plus, there doesn't seem to be anyone else who is a clear favorite.

I know that closers don't usually win the award, nor do I think they should...but I believe this is an unusual case.

I'll cast my vote for prior, just think about how bad the cubs are without him. Losing prior hurts more than losing gagne, mota or quantril could have saved 40 games.

Halliday in the AL.

Jason Schmidt in NL - Win loss records are BS and Gagne blew the only game that mattered ( allstar game).

I agree completely. Anyone that says a closer shouldn't win the award is completely psycho. I do agree that in general, a closer shouldn't win the award. However, when a pitcher like Gagne just completely overmatches and dominates the competition like he did this year, he's gotta win it. This, coupled with the fact that there really weren't any great starting pitcher performances this year makes this a no-brainer. Only 1 20-game winner, and he had a 3.81 ERA. Prior was good, Schmidt was good, but there wasn't anyone that put up Unit-like 22 win, 300+ K, low 2 ERA this season. Gagne should be a lock.

Actually, I thought Gagne and Smoltz would finish 1-2 until Smoltz went on the DL towards the end of the year.

Do the playoffs count? Perhaps count subconsiously?
If so another few votes for Schmidt after todays flawless
outing.

I believe the votes for post-season awards have already been made. The results just won't be revealed until later for publicity reasons.

My votes are for Loaiza in the AL and Gagne in the NL.
