Are there any books out there that has all the information needed to be a winning horseplayer? It doesn't have to be good enough for me to make money full-time; just enough to break even recreationally would be fine.

The best primer is Steve Davidowitz' book, and then there are any number of books, depending on what area you want to focus on. My personal favorite are the books of William Scott and James Quinn. Before I played poker I was a winning horseplayer and I credit both authors immensely. Quinns advice on the Breeders Cup is worth its weight in gold.

"Money Secrets of The Racetrack"- Barry Meadow

This book focuses on how the parimutual system works and how to get an edge. There is no handicapping , but in my opinion very valuable information.
