View Full Version : Internet messing up my live game

With the 3 tables and fast action online I've gotten spoiled. Now lately when I play in a live BM game I'm super bored and start playing very marginal hands just to get in the game. I have fun talking with people and making friends but sometimes I want some action, I guess it's the gambler in me. Anyone else have this problem?

I've played live exactly once in the last two years, as opposed to the once a month in the two years before that. I feel the same way about live poker--either it has become a royal P.I.A. or I've become spoiled by online. Unless I'm making a social outing with a friend to play or I happen to find myself in Vegas or Tunica for some reason I don't see ever playing live again.

Besides the action issue you mentioned, when playing live you also have to deal with:
bigger rake
tipping
jackpot drops
must move tables
moronic dealers who misdeal or handle games poorly
moronic floor personnel
driving/parking (45 miles to nearest casino for me)
getting dressed
play one table only
no player stats
limited table stakes options
players who: want a new setup 'for luck'; fling their cards at or otherwise abuse the dealer; want desperately to become your best friend; have b.o.; smoke

Order Cocktails and get a nice view of the TV (with a good sporting event) or play a higher limit.

I play multiple games online up to 3-6 and, when playing live, either 1) kick back and enjoy myself at a LL table or 2) play 15-30 and the stakes ensures my full attention.

I disagree with only one item on your list. I always go naked to live games. No need to wear clothes!!!

But I wonder if on a Sat. night, the live low-limit players are more likely to be loose, wild, drunk, and uneducated than the computer saavy internet players.
