Well maybe the headline is a bit misleading, but I did in fact attend a luncheon where Steve Ballmer was the featured speaker. I never spoke to him personally.
His view on cyber security: Microsoft is spending billions to make windows more secure. It causes him great pain when he hears about something like Blaster. However..., there are lots of idiots who use microsoft products but don't avail themselves of security features and patches offered by Microsoft. This is not a direct quote. I'm summarizing and sorting through the politeness.
His view on Linux and Asian gov'ts (meaning China) who are trying to develop alternative operating systems based on Linux: Microsoft would love to compete with any gov't sponsored product initiative.
