Hello Everyone,

As from my previous post in Beginners' Forum, I'm one of the long time lurkers and first time posters. I have been holding my own in about 1000 hrs of casino poker in 2-4 and 3-6 HE but no experience on internet poker. I'm thinking of starting now. The question is: If I were to play in only 1 site which would you, ladies and gents, recommend? I plan on playing only 1-2 as a strictly recreational and hopefully winning player.

Thank you in advance for your help.

I sent you a PM about where the best 1-2 games are

First, post this in the Internet Forum.

Then, take all the advice that says Pokerstars is a great place to take that leap. They have a great tournament schedule, and a great selection of every game at every limit. If you play pot limit omaha, for example, you might never need to visit any other site.

Good luck. Now get to the right forum before anyone else sees this horrible faux pas!

Hello Zak, welcome to the forum. I noticed you said that you posted this in the beginners section, hopefully you posted under "internet" as well. We can be a crazy bunch in the "Zoo", but most of us are harmless. /images/graemlins/grin.gif Opinions on which online sites to play are kinda like a$$holes, everybody seems to have/act like one. That being said, many people have flocked to the larger sites that have seen an increase in players/fish due to a lot of exposure from WPT and Moneymaker's(who qualified for his seat /images/graemlins/smirk.gif online)
WSOP win. If you are looking to play at the 1/2 limits almost exclusively, I would recommend pokerroom.com. They have multiple 1/2 tables running throughout the day and it is not hard to find tables with 35/40% seeing the flop. Play solid aggressive tight poker and you can comfortably make between 4BB/hr and up. Please visit the internet forum and you will get much ,much more info on site selection, sign up bonuses, and everything in between. Good luck and see you at the tables!......maybe /images/graemlins/smirk.gif

What do I know about Omaha? Why it's a city in Nebraska, of course!

Can't agree with you there Husker. 35-40% is quite tight, and not as profitable as party or pacific. Pacific, although painfully slow, often has 70% seeing the flop.

Yeah, on a tight table, I have seen some at 90% plus and thats not during their stupid tournaments either(where the person who sees the most showdowns wind $)

For 1-2 limit hold'em or 1-2 stud, I think it's pretty clearly going to be partypoker.com. Many, many fishes. Favorable stud structure, 25c ante, 50c bring-in, option of playing at six player max tables. It's only when you get to tourneys, SNGs, or NL hold'em that things get dicey with the structures.
