Just moved to Tampa about 6 weeks ago, I'm wondering what my options are for some hold-em. I tried the Seminole casino in Tampa and didn't have a good experience... couldn't even get a seat. I've seen a few blurbs on these boats that go out for a few hours and was wondering if anyone had info on them as far as level of players, etc.

Not that I have done any of these cruises from Florida coastal points, but I can make a guess. They leave for a several hour circuit with a fixed capacity. 450-600 it seems. Figure in slot players and table games, and there is not much poker left.

Sure enough, this report on Stardancer (http://www.joebobbriggs.com/vegasguy/vg20020903.html) that leaves from St John's pass has one table.

But SunCruz from the same port holds 1000 people. You might have better luck with that one.

Thanks for the info, I'll look up a little more on the SunCruz. If it all works out, I may post a review here.

Please do. I may have a chance to be in Ft. Lauderdale this fall, and the same operator runs a boat out of there.

I'd love to have a review before I commit to four or five hours on a boat.

You can play the same $1-2 game that Seminole spreads at the Dog Track, but the wait there is nothing compared to seminole.

SunCruz that sails from Port Canaveral has a good sized poker room, I think the whole 3rd deck is mostly poker tables.

The St. Tropez out of fort lauderdale has the best poker on any of the boats.

Thanks for the info Ryan, I didn't know the Dog Track had $1-$2 now too. Might as well go there and bet some dogs too.
