I just learned & started playing micro-linit Hold'em at PP.com in mid June. I've been keeping detailed records of my play and after 2500 hands I'm curious where I am in my learning. My stats are as follows: showsdowns won - 49.9%, flops seen 27%, win % if see flop 24.7%. My hourly win rate for the first 100 hrs of play at .50/1.00 limit is $3.65. I've also played 7 of their "Lucky Dollar" NL tournaments which are qualifying events for their $3M WPT event. My finish & # of players in each event (in cronological order) are as follows: 578/690, 62/500, 7/500, 128/917, 42/897, 65/468 ($10 satellite tourney), 3/967. Any comments would be welcome. (P.S. - I've played casino blackjack for over 20 years as a card counter with reasonable success but finally got tired of the abuse from the casinos, so after seeing the Travel Channel WPT decided to learn a new game. Next week I'm going to Vegas and will play my first $2/4 game in a B & M cardroom.

Is PP Paradise Poker or Party Poker? I always get confused. Your flop % seems high. However, if you're playing in loose passive games, you should be seeing the flop with a wide range of hands. Your hourly win rate is very high. If you can sustain 3+ BB/bour, you should move up to 1-2. Does that include bonuses you've received as well?

Tournaments: The tournament pool is too small. You've done well so far, but you need to play in a few hundred more to get any kind of meaningful results. Hope this helps.

You must have good card sense to be a reasonably successful BJ card counter. However, I would still suggest that you pick up some of the books mentioned for the umpteenth time in these forums - Jones' S&M's, etc.

GL and post to let us know how you'd do.....and welcome to the forum.

He's playing .5/1, 27% seem about right to me when half the table is seeing the flop each hand.

It's hard to determine much after only 100 hours.

That said, it's always a good sign to be in the plus column.

I have never played .50 - $1 but I assume they play extremely loose; if I'm right, you too should be playing a little looser than you normally would.

I'm guessing that there is not alot of pre-flop raising at this level.

If this is the case, you are getting alot of free plays in your BB. Add this to the fact that your SB calling requirements should be lowered against what is presumably weak opposition and 27% seems like a reasonable number of flops for you to be seeing.
