I am trying to learn stud and bought the Advanced Book by Sklansky & Malmuth. Now I know I should have gotten a beginners book, but I am on a budget and love the Advanced Hold 'em book they love so much, I figured this would be great too. From what I can tell it is.
My problem is that the Advanced Hold 'em book didn't make too much sense to me until I read books like "Winning low limit hold 'em" first, then after I had digested that I understood it. I am considering whether I should get the equivalent "novice" book in stud, if that would make my comprehension of the advanced stud book easier.
Specifically, I am thinking of buying "42 lessons" by Roy West. My question is for people who have read this book and the Advanced book: is it worth it to buy the 42 lessons book too? Or is it simply a restating of concepts that are in the advanced book. If so I don't want to spend my money on it. I don't play stud in casinos yet so it might just be that is why I am struggling with my comprehension, not because I need another book. Thanks, Tim
