I am new to poker in general and online poker in particular.

Playing online at Planet I found myself developing a couple of bad habits

1) talking out loud and reacting to bets and board cards

2) using the Planet interface color scheme to mark hearts different from diamonds and clubs different from spades

Neither of these help for the live game.

What to do about these habits? For #2 I should just stop using the color crutch, but what to do about #1? Should I play with a mirror to remind myself to stay stony?

And what other bad habits might I be developing?

If you are like me, playing while wearing more than your undies is now too constraining. This might pose a problem in most casinos. Also, standing up suddenly, knocking your chair over backwards while yelling "Take that, biatch!" and giving your bigmouthed, onscreen nemesis the double flying birds when you hit your river card may be frowned upon in a live game. Unless, from what I've read, you are playing at the Commerce.

I wouldn't worry about that as long as you can get rid of the worst habit of them all: playing live poker.

Other bad habits?

Looking at pornography and pleasuring yourself while playing is also not generally accepted for play in casinos.
