I definitely want to have poker on premises, but right now the only viable options for the week im going (in 2 weeks), considering price, is the orleans, which is offstrip, but has nice poker room, or NYNY, which has no poker but is nice resort on strip, but i'd have to walk to bellagio or (Gulp) luxor or monte carlo.

I'm also considering imperial palace, which isnt great, but comps are nice, location is great, and BOTH mirage and bellagio under 5 minute walk away......

Suggestions??

Ill be there the 20-24th and will be staying on the strip at the very classy boardwalk hotel and casino....home of the 24 hour buffett and $3 blackjack table. To me the most important things are price and location. While id like to stay at the bellagio the price is just way beyond my budget. Instead, im stayin rigbt next door and paying $40 a night. I dont plan to spend much time in my room so this will suit me just fine. Im just throwing this out there for you....i thought you might be a cheap bastard like me ;-)

I saw Imperial Palace is the way to go. Staying at the Orleans would suck I think b/c you'd have to take a cab to the REAL poker rooms.

I was in vegas two weeks ago and stayed at Imperial Palace, $35/night weeknight, it was a web deal from their website. And a walk across the street to the Mirage.

Hey now, the Boardwalk is good times. Be sure to stop in and play some $1 roulette.

BTW, might I recommend the Tropicana if you're looking for cheap rooms. They're a tad more expensive than Imperial Palace or Boardwalk, but it's still a very good deal. Plus you're near the Monte Carlo, Mandalay Bay, Luxor and (ick) Excalibur poker rooms. Not to mention the Trop kept giving us free stuff last time, even though we weren't gambling there. Free deck of cards here, enough free drinks to get me good and toasted there, and all in all a good time.

You COULD take a cab if you had to. But, remember that the Orleans owner also owns Barbary Coast. Thus, there is a free shuttle between the two locations. Once you're at Barbary...you're just across the street from the Bellagio, etc.
