Shock Corridor is a film by Samuel Fuller and is considered one of the best films he has made. It's about a reporter whose goal is to receive a Pulitzer Prize. He believes that he can do this by solving a murder that was committed in a mental institution, so he decides to have himself committed. After being committed to a mental hospital he starts to close in on the killer, but at the expense of his own sanity. This film examines how far someone is willing to go to win a prize, and I believe that the subject matter is just as relevant today as it was in 1963.

This movie was filmed in black and white with some color sequences added while patients recall past experiences. The film explores the flaws in several mental patients that cover the subject of racism, politics, and sexism in America.

An interesting sequence occurs is when the reporter is attacked by a group of nyphomanics. After the attack, his doctor says that's usually every mans dream. But is it? In this situation?

I give it a 10 out of 10.

Good Luck
