I am re-reading 21C HP. In early position for Tight Passive and Loose Aggressive games, am I right that they are essentially equal; i.e Groups 1 & 2 cards with and addition of 99 and AQ for the Tight Passive?

Thanks

No. In a TP game you can be confident what their bets and infrequent raises mean, thus you can make better postflop decisions and run over the table when you are confident your opponents didn't hit the flop.

LAG games you are less certain what their action means both preflop and throughout the hand and less certain how aggressive action on your part will impact your opponent's play.

Thus an open raise in an LAG game may well see it 2 or more raises back to you from group V or better hands, while an open raise from EP in a TP game may fold out group II & III hands and often win the blinds.

Can you see how this alters how you play from EP in these 2 types of tables?
