It's been a few weeks since we had our last dose of Ogden Nash; time for another:

There is something about a Martini,

A tingle remarkably pleasant;

A yellow, a mellow Martini;

I wish I had one at present.

There is somethihg about a Martini

Ere the dining and dancing begin,

And to tell you the truth,

It is not the vermouth--

I think that perhaps it's the gin.

That's a good one, but can you imagine a yellow martini? Yuck. Silver, clear, and cold please.

very dry made with vodka, preferably Ketel One.

No, for me Boodles or Beefeater or maybe Sapphire, up, twist. Vermouth optional. Usually stick to whisky but Martinis are very necessary sometimes.

Remove Bombay Sapphire bottle from the freezer. Pour into glass. Insert 4 olives. Absolutely no ice or vermouth. Not for the faint of heart.

i Love Bombay Sapphire. prefer gin and tonic though (w/ lime).
