One of the minor telephone companies held a seminar this past Friday & Saturday at Harrah's Casino in East Chicago, IN. The advertisement article said, "Ma Tell, Looking For A Few Good Men..." Basement Man showed the Add to the SPM and said, "Why don't you ask, the Ball and Chain, to let you go and seek new horizons." With two thumbs up, from the greatest women I have ever known, Mrs. SPM!!! The SPM was, showered, shaved and out the door, faster than the "S" in SPEEDY.

Mr Dealer opened the seminar on Friday with Ma Tell's, National Scrabble. Then with just a few cuts, which no one noticed, he wished everyone good luck. The first speaker was a guy by the name of Big Slick. He was a big strapping fellow, who said, "Ma Tell, needs a few more Calling Stations!" Then he grabbed some of the SPM's chips and said, "RAISE!" The SPM stood up immediately and said, "let me handle my own chips sir, I'm married." But, a guy who calls himself Big Slick doesn't listen much. He just pushed the SPM's chips all the way to the river, where two ducks at Calling Station number 3 won the prize. When Big Slick feel into the muck of the river, he yelled, "Ma Tell, needs a few more Calling Stations!" After learning all the ends and outs of being a Ma Tell Calling Station, the SPM took his profit home and looked forward to Saturdays seminar.

Mrs. Dealer asked two blind guys to do some kind of post work, before opening Saturdays seminar. It appeared several of the attendees from Friday's seminar had been hired as Ma Tell Calling Stations. So Saturdays seminar was felled with Calling Station. The SPM had decided not to work for Ma Tell, he felt she was just a little to obvious.

Now one or two Calling Stations is an acceptable risk, but when half the seminar are Calling Stations, sending a strong message to the river is not always an easy task. Calling Stations have speedy fingers making it possible for them to speed call with great regularity. Like tell-a- marketers they are a persistent group and if one doesn't get you another one will. The SPM flop set after set only to be disconnected by a Calling Station with insider information about an incoming flush or straight. Can't fight City Hall, so after getting even for the sixth time the SPM said his good byes and went home to re-read the brochures on the advantages of working for Ma Tell as a Calling Station.

SPM,...play long and prosper...
