Is the road from L.A. to Vegas open?

I'd heard it was closed due to rain damage recently. Anyone know if there's a problem driving from L.A. to Vegas? I'm scheduled to drive on Sunday.

There was no problem when I made the drive (unless you count bumper-to-bumper traffic in the middle of the damn desert), but that was two weeks ago so I don't know if anything has changed. I doubt the road is closed, or I would have seen it on the news.

no its open andy but because of so much water they have a submarine to shuttle you from jean nevada all the way there.

I heard it is closed at barstow. you should call the chp to find out.

Andy's right. I-15 was closed at Barstow due to flash flooding that eroded a bridge support outside of Baker. Traffic was re-routed to I-40 and U.S. 95 outside Laughlin. Wednesday, there was a 30-mile backup because of Caltrans work on the 40. I can't imagine being involved in that.

As it is, I-15 re-opened late Friday morning/early afternoon. If you're leaving Sunday, you're all good.
