Finally going to vegas after a very long hiatus. Just point me to the FAQ if there is one.

I'd love to get some help from the experts. I like to play 5/10 short games online. Doing that for a couple of years as a hobby and doing relatively well.

What limits/games/casinos would be worthwhile. I've seen that the Mirage has the rock garden from other posts. Is this still true. I'm thinking 5/10 or 8/16 would be up my ally, but I'm not sure. Could I play higher limits -- what kind of roll would I need?

What are the best times to play -- I'm a night hawk. Are those games more lucrative?

ALso, I'd love to meet pokerbabe, clarkmeister and dynasty -- your posts have helped my game tremendously. Contrary to the "babies" who feel that you're not nice enough, I've learned a ton.

Thanks in advance!

Magithighs.

babe doesnt think they arent nice, its that they dont dress becoming a gentleman. there would be nothing wrong with meeting and thanking them for all they have done for you. but certainly do it in a place where you wont be seen by anybody.

Nice to see you're still in action. I forget when I changed my name here but I used to post under "coz". I went to Vegas for the first time back in May. I only went to the Bellagio and the Mirage and only got in about 12 hours of poker, but for my money the games were better at the Bellagio but the Mirage was the nicer room. Of course that was me playing $10/$20, $15/$30, and $20/$40, not $.50/$1 like I was a year and a half ago /images/graemlins/wink.gif Good luck.

Hey! While Dynasty may be "fashion challenged" I am a fixture in the "best dressed" section of the annual BBBL ("Babes Best Boys List").

Vehn,

I haven't seen you on PP or pokerstars for many moons. I mainly hang out in 3/6 or 5/10 five handed and have had a good run of 1 on 1. Where you playing these days?

Do you think 10/20 would be too high for me --- I too have not been hanging out at the 1/2 tables, unless I'm starting from scratch. Cashed out a few times, and that's a good way to build the roll.

Cheers

I quit online poker last fall and just recently started up again. Right now I have a few bucks on stars and play tournys mostly and refill on LL shorthanded and HU hold'em. I'm mainly trying to work on my pathetic multitable tourny game at the moment.

Since last summer I've been concentrating mostly on B&M poker and have been very successful - I built up a solid roll and now play $15/$30 all the time and occassionally $30/$60. Quite the change from me and you fighting it out at $1/$2 on paradise, huh?

I would say if you can beat the brutal rake at $5/$10 6 max you would have no problem at Mirage $10/$20 or Bellagio $15/$30. Mirage $20/$40 was a bit of a step up though I would say, well, at least in the 4 hours I played it.

Meh go for it, ya got nothing to lose but money. /images/graemlins/wink.gif Seeya around.

I highly reccomend the Bellagio 8/16 game. It's especially juicy on weekend nights. From my experience both the Bellagio and Mirage poker rooms are rocks up until about 3:00 pm. The best hours to play are 8:00pm-6:00am, however you may be in for a short wait for a seat during this time.

Happy Pokering,

Good to hear you're moving up and staying out of my online games! Also glad to hear you're working on your short game. I always thought that was one of your weak spots -- likely it has become much better.

Personally, I'm starting to dislike the pokerstars tourneys. I came in second in one but haven't been able to get back in the money. It's really a crapshoot on the second hour. If you can make it to the third hour in good shape, then it's money time. I keep getting a bad beat in the second hour -- usually a big poket pair. Made it in the 150,000 limit tourney, but stunk out on a big pocket -- tt. ak next hand broke me.

If you want to exchange tips on how to break that game let me know -- I'm still at magithighs@rogers.com . I haven't got much to share, but I know it can be a nice chunck of change if it can be beaten regulary. A few do, so there must be a knack there somehwhere.
