I will be venturing around the northwest for vacation the last week in August and the first week in September.

My wife and I have not finalized the trip plans yet, but we are planning to hit Seattle, Portland, San Fran and many state parks in-between.

Does anyone have suggestions for poker rooms in any of those cities or along the way? I would like to play at least a couple times while I am out there and maybe meet up with some other 2+2'ers.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Phil

Hey Phil,

Are you going to be in SF in September? My girlfriend and I are moving out Sept. 1st (we arrive 9/1). We should meet up.
We were out a couple weeks ago finding a place, and I played at Lucky Chances and Artichoke Joe's. I'd definitely recommend LC.

(I'm the fellow wahoo that played with Juice)

Nice. Yeah, I will be in San Fran from probably September 3rd through the 6th or 7th.

Send me an email and we can coordinate. My email is my 2+2 name @hotmail.com.

I suggest Muckleshoot in the Seattle area. Their website is available at http://www.muckleshootcasino.com/ . If you want to meet up, drop me a line. /images/graemlins/smile.gif

If you are actually in Seattle proper, Diamond Lil's in Renton is quite a bit closer than Muckleshoot (it is a poker only cardroom, as opposed to a Native American casino).

North of Seattle there is also the Tulalip tribe Casino in Marysville (they remodeled a couple of years ago, and it looks pretty nice).

In the Portland area there is Spirit Mountain with 16 tables about 50 miles from down town, they have a hotel 1-800-760-7977 or spiritmountain.com aka

It sure looks nice, but it's the worst run poker room I've ever been in. I've only been there twice, but both times the room didn't call in new players according to the list, started multiple games that broke less than a half hour after they started, and couldn't keep the tables full when they had a list.

After visiting a couple of other rooms since my last visit to Tulalip, I can say that I wholeheartedly agree with you. The way they run their weekly tournament is disgraceful, their dealers are ignorant and/or rude, and it seems VERY newbie un-friendly. I doubt I will be back.

I've also heard nothing but bad things about Tulalip's cardroom. Besides, Judy's too hot for me to play anywhere other than Muckleshoot...

Sixteen miles North of Portland on I-5, the town of Lacenter. The Last Frontier casino has a large poker room.

This is also close to scenic areas like Mt St Helens and the Columbia River Gorge.

The only good thing about Tulalip's poker room is the most loose/passive tables in the Seattle area. Okay, maybe a close second to the Grove. Other than that, it's a horrible place to play.
