Apparently Freddy Garcia just needed a little motivation in the form of criticism from the great "Sooga".
I'm just joking, of course. But since he was criticized on this forum, Freddy G has gone 2-1, with a 1.77 era, nearly 1K/IP, and 2.5K/BB.
I still maintain that he's got good stuff. As pitching coach Bryan Price said after his Aug 12th performance vs. Toronto:
"Freddy made one adjustment, his attitude. It was as if he got tired of getting hit and came out of the corner throwing punches. That was some kind of turnaround to see."
He's proved nothing yet, other than he's capable of being very very good. If he continues like that, Seattle will be tough.
